TRAINING & PLACEMENT ACTIVITIES OF TEXTILE COURSES

 

DKTE is one of the preferred institute by the most of the textile organizations for the recruitment of textile Diploma, Under-graduate and Post-graduate students.  Training and Placement Department is actively involved in keeping liaison with industries, for arrangements of industrial training, summer internship and campus interviews.  Department provides information to clarify career goals, indentifying path ways by conducting orientation lectures and counseling programmes.

For overall grooming of the students, Campus recruitment training Programme (CRT) by external agencies are regularly conducted from fourth semester to seventh semester. CRT programme consists of Vocabulary Building, Listening Skills, Speaking Skill, Writing Skills, Resume Writing, Interview Techniques, Quantitative and Logical Aptitude, Mock P.I., Mock G.D.. On Line Test practices, etc.

INTERNSHIP/INDUSTRIAL TRAINING:

Internship / Industrial training is a very important part of professional engineering education.  All B.Tech. (TT/MMTT/TPE/TC/FT) students are required to undergo training at the end of each fifth and seventh Semester for the period of totaleight weeksand Diploma (DTM/DTT/DFCT) students are required to undergo training for the period offour weeksafter Fourth Semester.

Training and Placement Department take initiative and interacts with textile industries.  Due to close liaison, with more than 300 diverse spectrum of textile industries like Spinning / Weaving / Knitting / Machinery Manufacturing / Technical Textile / Garment Industries / Non-Woven / Yarn / Fabric Chem. Processing / Woven Processing / Knit Processing / Denim / Terry Towel / Garment Manufacturing / Marketing / POY / PSF / Texturising / R & D Institutes / Testing Laboratories / Garment Washing / Sewing Threads / Worsted, we can able to place more than 700 students every year during summer and winter training.  

To get the maximum benefits from these rare opportunities, industrial training is very carefully planned.  The training programme has following components.

1. Allottment of Training organizations:

During Orientation Lecture students are taught techniques of learning what to learn, how to learn, etc.

2. Orientation Lecture :   

During Orientation Lecture students are taught techniques of learning what to learn, how to learn, etc.

3. Internship/Industrial Training Schedule:

    B.Tech. (TT/MMTT/TPE/TC/FT)       =       04 Weeks in the month of December / May

    Diploma (DTM/DTT/DFCT)             =       04 Weeks in the month of May / June.

         

4. Daily Diary

Daily Diary prepared for student is unique feature of DKTE.  More than 1000 guideline points are given in this diary.  Students undergoing training are required to maintain daily diary regularly in systematic manner.

5. Evaluation

Evaluation of training performance is done by conducting viva-voce examination by inviting External Examiners having industrial experience.

 

6. Schedule of Training:  

a)        Summer May/June of every year.

          b)       Winter December of every year.

 

INTERNATIONAL  INTERNSHIP:

Every year around 20 students get Internship opportunities in international companies like Texmaco P.T. Polysindo Eka Parkasa, Indonesia, Truetzschler, Mayer & Cie, PTMT Panther Italy, Savio Italy, Schoch Italy, Reggani Italy, Denim DE’11 Moritius  and in Foreign Universities like Technical University of Liberec, Czech Republic & HOF University, Germany. 

 

PRE-PLACEMENT OFFERS (PPO) -(PLACEMENT BASED ON INTERNSHIP PERFORMANCE)

 Leading organizations select Pre-Final Year students through campus interviews / telephonic / skype interviews for Summer Internship / Project.  Very attractive stipend in the range of Rs. 5,000/- to Rs. 60,000/- per month is offered.  Final placement offers will be given based on the performance during internships. Students selected under PPO will be blocked for appearing Campus Interviews.

RULES SET FOR STUDENTS ASPIRING FOR JOB


[A]    PRE-PLACEMENT OFFER 

  • All pre-placement offers extended to any student have to be routed through placement cell.  Any student who has already received PPO must inform to the placement office as soon as possible.
  • Students selected through PPO are blocked for appearing campus recruitment programmes.


[B]    PLACEMENT DATABASE

Database of all interested students should be verified by showing original marksheet documnets with Training & Placement office before scheduled time,for sharing with the companies.


[C]   SUBMISSION OF RESUME

      Soft copy of resume should be submitted to TPO before scheduled time through respective class co-coordinators.

[D]  JOB INFORMATION NOTICE


Interested companies will send job descriptions. Based on the information submitted by company Job Information Notice will be displayed, containing details of job / plant / location / position / offer / eligibility criteria etc.


[E]    Registration for Campus Interviews

  • Based on Job Information Notice, interested student has to register his name within stipulated time.
  • Once student register his name for campus interviews, he cannot withdraw his name. It is mandatory to appear further rounds of interviews. Casual approach in this regards is not tolerable. Failing which he / she will be debarred for all other subsequent companies. For vary genuine reason name can be withdrawn with written prior intimation and permission from TPO.
  •  Based on eligible criteria decided by industry / institute, shortlisted candidates are allowed to appear for interviews 


[F]    DISCIPLINE DURING CAMPUS INTERVIEW

  • Shortlisted student should present at least 10 minutes before the scheduled time at the venue. Delay in reporting will disqualify the students from recruitment process. Students should be very punctual and once the  recruitment process starts all doors will be closed.
  •  Uniform (white full shirt / black trousers / black shoes / black west belt) is mandatory. Failing which students will not be allowed to sit for campus interviews.
  •  Students must keep their Identity Card with them during interview process.
  •  Maximum Seven will be given for appearing interviews. Therefore, students are required to prepare sincerely and appear all rounds of interviews with full preparation.
  •  Students once selected are not allowed to appear for other interviews, one job to one student.
  •  Direct approach with interview panel or company personnel, will disqualify the student from recruitment process
  •  Students must bring all documents claimed in resume. 


[G]    Submission of Offer Letters

 Once the student is selected, he will be blocked for appearing next interviews.  Selected students are required to submit photocopy of his offer letter to Training & Placement office.                    

[H]   Condition for Joining

Selected candidates are required to reach the company / organization for joining as per the schedule given in offer letter.

[I]  Commitment to the Institute

 It is expected by Institute / as well as by recruiter that selected candidates are required to work for minimum period of 03 years for earning good reputation for individual as well as for the Institute.

[J]  Soft Skills / ON LINE PRACTICE TEST / Employability Enhancement Program

Many Programs like Campus Recruitment Training, consist measures major compentencies in English Language, Problem Solving, Mathematical Aptitude, Mock GD & PI, Technical Test, Counseling through Alumni’s and Industry experts are arranged for grooming of the students. The attendance for above programs is compulsory.

[K]  additional campus recruitment training programme

Campus Recruitment Training Programme for weak students as well as for those students joining after year down will be arranged. Such students should take advantage and prepare for interviews. Weak students will be identified based on the assessment conducted by trainers.

 [L] Those students who do not wish to participate for any recruitment process must inform to Training and Placement Office before scheduled time.
